First, I want to apologize to you for not meeting the deadline for posting this article on the day I promised, which was 3/17/12.  I had a family emergency that needed my undivided attention.

Here, now is the list of harmful ingredients you should look out for when purchasing processed food:

Aspartame, Autolyzed Proteins, BPA (Bisphenol-A, Casein – Milk proteins, (used in soy cheese), Corn Syrup/High Fructose Syrup, FD&C Red #40, Homogenized Milk, Hydrochloride, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride or Thiamin Hydrochloride, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Partially Hydrogenated Oils, Phosphoric Acid, Propylene Glycol, Sodium (dead salt), Sodium Nitrite, Soy Protein, Sucralose (sold as Splenda), Sugar (white/bleached), Textured Vegetable Protein (genetically modified soybeans processed with hexane), Yeast Extract (hidden form of MSG), niacinamide and cyanocobalamin (synthetic vitamin B-12).  Genetically Modified Ingredients – not currently listed on the label because the GMO industry (Monsanto and DuPont) absolutely  does not want people to know which foods contain GMOs.  Nearly all conventionally grown corn, soy and cotton are GMOs.  They’re linked to severe infertility problems and may even cause the bacteria  in your body to produce and release a pesticide in your own gut.  If you’re not eating organic corn, you’re definitely eating GMO corn.  Some of the diseases that are caused by these harmful ingredients are: cancer, neurological disorders, seizures, blurred vision, migraine headaches, infertility, hormone disorders, diabetes, obesity, mood disorders, high blood pressure, heart disease just to name a few.  Please visit this link

My hope is that if enough people read the ingredients and dump those packages that have those harmful ingredients, the food industry will be forced to produce healthier food.  Meanwhile, we might have to do some cooking ourselves.

Harmful Ingredients


My frustration comes from STILL seeing , so many products in stores (including so-called health stores) selling   products with harmful ingredients.  Yet, I have known about this problem for over a decade.  I am sure, the manufacturers know about the dangers of different  poisons sneaked in each and every product on the market.     For if it is not grid for exorbitant monetary gains at the expense of the healthy of the consumer, then there must be another hidden agenda. . Apparently what  they care about is their bottom line; while we, consumers suffer from the consumption of such contaminated products.  To make matters worse, I see people buying these products without any hesitation.  When I see this, I feel like screaming!  So, this is my way of screaming.  Please, read the ingredients before you purchase any product, no matter where you are getting it from.  Check the labels on:  mouthwashes, toothpastes, shampoos, conditioners, shaving gels/creams, lotions, deodorants, shower bars/gels, bubble bath, nail polish, nail polish remover, children’s products, feminine products and color cosmetics.

Some of the potentially harmful ingredients include: dioxin, triclosan, phthalates, benzoyl peroxide, PEG (polyethylene), DEA/ TEA (triethanolamine) and MEA, FD&C Red 40 &Pigments, sodium fluoride, parabens,(methyl, butyl,ethyl, propyl), sodium laurel sulfate (SLS), sodium laureth sulfate (SLES), avobenzone, benzphennone, ethoxycinnamate, PABA, aluminum,butane, propane, talc (talcum powder), alcohol, favoring, toluene, glycerin, mineral oil/petrolatum and fragrance (undefined mixtures); just to name a few.  Note: some of these poisons are in food like, ice cream and baked goods. However, their products contain soy.  Personally, I avoid soy like a plague because it’s very controversial and I know at least three people it has adversely affected, including myself.  I will elaborate on it next time.
